I was back at the picnic table watching everybody dance and mingle when Amara finally freed herself from her hound dog long enough to confront me.

She was upset and sexy as hell with an attitude. I knew we had something real serious to discuss, but all I wanted to do was fuck.

“How was I supposed to know she was your cousin?”

“This is so bad.” She whispered as she nervously looked around. “You know she still loves you, right?”

I sighed, “Yeah, I noticed.”

“Do you still love her?”

I cared about Fallon, but I didn’t love her the same way she loved me. What we had was over, and I wasn’t looking to get it back.

“No, I don’t,” I said. “She broke up with me a year ago, and we haven’t talked since.”

Amara stared at me for as long as she could before anyone saw her. I could tell she was at a crossroads; I saw it in her eyes. She was sad and didn’t want to hurt Fallon, but she didn’t want to leave me alone either.

“I can’t believe this.” She rested her head in her hands. “She can never find out about what we did.”

“She gon’ find out one day.”

I tried to hold her hand, but she moved it away, which I expected. I just wanted to see if she would let me.

“Caine… we can’t keep fucking around behind her back. You know that. If she finds out I had sex with you, she’ll go right back into depression… And stop looking at me like that. You can not do this in front of everyone.”

I rolled my eyes away for a second just to make her comfortable. But I couldn’t stop looking at her. I wanted her. And she was fucking sexy.

“So, you want me to leave you alone?”

I wanted her to say no, but I would’ve respected her decision either way. As long as it took her to answer, I thought she was going to say no. But she couldn’t. She didn’t get a chance to before Fallon came over to see if we had been properly introduced.

“I see you met Caine. Finally.”

Fallon sat next to me and linked our arms together like old times. I wanted to pull away so she didn’t get any ideas, but I didn’t want to make the moment awkward.

“Yeah,” Amara said, smiling. “He seems cool. It was nice of him to come.”

I gave her a seductive look while Fallon wasn’t paying attention—thinking about how hard she made me cum. I hated having to hide how I was feeling, and I knew she did too. I could tell every time she looked at me, she wanted to put that pussy on this dick again.

“Yeah, this my dawg,” Fallon said. “He always got my back.”

She put her arms around me and kissed my cheek. It was a harmless gesture, but Amara didn’t like it. She looked away until Fallon was done with her PDA, while I sat there wondering why she was even jealous.

“The fam talking about going to the game room to end the night,” Fallon said. “The old heads going to bed soon, but we still wanna hang out. What’s up? Y’all down? This’ll be Amara’s first time there, so we gotta break her in proper.”

I looked at Amara.

She looked at me.

I felt like we looked guilty, but it only made me want her more.

“Ok, bet,” I said. “I’ll have them set up a section; throw a lil’ party.”

“Ok then!” Fallon danced a little. “This why I love him. He always down for a good time.”

I didn’t want to hang with Fallon and her crew that night. I only said yes because I wanted to be next to Amara. It didn’t matter to me if Fallon knew about us or not. Shit, I thought it was better if she did know. The only reason I didn’t say anything was because of Amara.

“Nigga, what the fuck you doing with Fallon?”

Kash laughed when he saw who the party was set up for. He managed the game room most nights when I wasn’t around. It gave him something to do other than running the streets and getting in trouble.

“She back in town,” I shrugged. “Her and the fam had a lil’ kick back today, and she invited me. I didn’t plan on ending up here, though.”

The party room was set up with all kinds of liquor, food, neon lights, and its own DJ. The fam was vibing out—bopping on the dance floor and taking pictures on the 360 rotator. It was a good night, except for the tension between me and Amara.

I watched her as I sat off to the side, telling Kash all about my night with her. She was having fun, blending in, trying not to fuck with me.

The nigga who was all over her at the function earlier was there. Doing the same shit he had been doing all day.

I kept trying to piece together their relationship, but each time I thought I figured it out, she pushed him away like she’d had enough of him.

I wanted to know who he was and why he kept following her around, but she wouldn’t let herself get close enough for me to ask.

“Fallon gon’ be fucked up ‘bout this, dawg,” Kash said. “Her cousin? And you ain’t tell her?”

“I wanna tell her!” I replied. “She the one that don’t wanna say shit. It’s like… she wanna fuck with me, but she don’t wanna fuck with me because of Fallon. So in her mind, I guess it don’t make sense to tell her if we ain’t fucking with each other… but she wanna fuck with me.”

“That sound like too much bullshit for me,” Kash laughed. “This why I don’t fuck with relationships, situationships, none of that shit. I fuck who I want, when I want, and leave it at that.”

I looked at Fallon—smiling, laughing, having a good time. I didn’t feel anything romantically, though. Not like I did when I looked at Amara. She made me smile. Made me wanna hug up on her and talk to her about anything. I know it sounds crazy because we had only just met, but she had a hold on me.

“Ay, look! Look! That nigga finally leaving.” Kash pointed out Amara’s shadow storming out. “Go get your girl, big dawg.”

Kash played wingman and went to keep Fallon busy while I crept off to the bathroom to check on Amara.

“You good?”

I waited outside the ladies’ room for her to finish. Call it what you want, but I had to know where we stood before I let the spark we had die out.

“I’m good.” She folded her arms across her chest. “You good?”

“Nah, I ain’t good. I’m tryna figure out what’s up with us?”

I took a step toward her, but she backed away. I saw in her eyes that she didn’t really want to. She just knew that if I touched her, she couldn’t resist me.

“Cainen, please stop,” she whined. “I already told you we can’t do this.”

“We already did,” I frowned.

“Well, we can’t keep doing it. She’s my cousin. Not to mention, she’s still in love with you.”

I took another step towards her. That time, she didn’t back away. She let me get close enough to grab her belt loop and pull her towards me, and she got weak when I did.

I didn’t want to talk about Fallon or how we couldn’t continue seeing each other. I had other things on my mind. And when I leaned in to kiss Amara on the cheek, I knew she did too.

“Come in here with me.”

I took her hand and tugged her toward the men's room. She looked nervous but didn’t try to stop me. I made sure nobody was coming before I pulled her inside, then locked the door just in case anybody came through.

Once we were alone in our own world, I picked her up and backed her against the wall while kissing her like she meant everything to me. My dick was throbbing, and I couldn’t wait to stick it in, but I felt something else too—a feeling I couldn’t explain.

I didn’t want to call it love at first sight because I don’t believe in fairytales. But it damn sure felt like it.

“You better hurry up before somebody comes,” Amara whispered. “Hurry up and give me my dick.”

“Oh, it’s yours now?” I asked while unzipping my pants. “You was tryna get rid of it a few seconds ago.”

“I came and got it, didn’t I?”

I slapped the head of my dick against her fat lips a couple of times before pushing it in. I pushed deep, smearing her wetness all down my shaft. Her shit was warm and slippery—perfect for the standing position I had her in.
